GEOVIA Minex Grid Models

You add a GEOVIA Minex grid model to a scenario in GEOVIA MineSched by clicking Add in the Models pane. Minex grid models are referenced by files with a .b35 or .b35s extension.

Note: In Minex grid models, the files that contain the structure and quality grid data are located in separate folders.

Fields on the Model Detail Pane for Minex Grid Models

Field Description
Name

The name by which you refer to the model in MineSched.

The name is automatically populated from the file name. If you want to change the name, type a new name in this field.

Note: Reserved words cannot be used for the model Name. If the file name of the model is a reserved word, "_1" is appended to the automatically populated model name. If you type a reserved word for the Name, a warning message appears and the name reverts to the previous name.

Seam sequence file Automatically populated with the file location of the Minex grid model you added.
Structure grids folder The folder in which the structure grids are stored.
Quality grids folder The folder in which the quality grids are stored.
Base weathering grid name

The name of the grid that represents the base of weathering in the seam sequence.

This grid must be stored in the Structure grids folder.

Note: If the model does not have a base weathering grid, use the name of the uppermost structure grid, or of a topography grid.

Specific gravity
Method

The method you want to use to calculate the specific gravity of each block in the block model.

  • From seam sequence file: The specific gravity values are taken from the specified Seam sequence file.
  • Constant: All blocks have the same specific gravity. The Constant field becomes available for you to type the value for specific gravity for all blocks.
  • Density grid suffix: The specific gravity values are taken from quality grid files that have a specified suffix. The Density grid suffix field becomes available for you to type the suffix.
Constant The value for the specific gravity for all seams in the grid model.
Density grid suffix The suffix that MineSched searches for in the quality grid file names to locate the files that contain the values for specific gravity.
